VU.CITY Dacorum is the most accurate interactive 3D model of the town.
VU.CITY Dacorum centres on Hemel Hempstead and its surrounding area in Hertfordshire. One of the UK’s first New Towns, Hemel Hempstead was developed after the Second World War, with the original part of the town still known as the Old Town. It’s renowned for its Magic Roundabout, the pedestrianised Marlowes shopping centre, and the Jellicoe Water Gardens alongside the River Gade.
Hemel Hempstead’s vision for the future is bold. Through the Hemel Garden Communities programme, new homes are being delivered as a catalyst for the town’s transformation, building on its New Town legacy.
Significant change is expected in the coming years, particularly at major regeneration sites in the town centre and the Two Waters area. Dacorum Borough Council has been using VU.CITY to support high-quality development and smarter planning decisions.
Hemel Hempstead’s next chapter
Hemel Garden Communities is one of the most significant growth programmes in the country, set to deliver around 11,000 new homes and 10,000 new jobs to the north and east of Hemel Hempstead by 2050. In the south of the town, Two Waters and Apsley are planned for around 2,000 new homes. In the town centre, sites such as the former Civic Centre and the Water Gardens car parks are being prioritised for new homes and regeneration, with a new town centre masterplan on the way.
With VU.CITY Dacorum, you can see approved and under-construction schemes in context and test how your own plans will sit alongside them.
