Before using VU.CITY, Bennetts Associates would need to bring together several different sources of 2D and 3D information to get a decent picture of their proposals in context, purchase traditional geometry and have to take measurements by eye. Now their workflow is 3D digital right the way through and gives them a fantastic competitive advantage.
Bennetts Associates has won more than 150 awards for its work, which spans sectors including culture, workplace and education. An early adopter of VU.CITY, the practice is increasingly involved in larger scale masterplanning and placemaking schemes from its London, Edinburgh and Manchester studios.

Being able to start with analysis at city scale in 3D using VU.CITY and quickly see a number of different iterations of a design has been invaluable and time-saving. They used VU.CITY for a project in the London Borough of Camden, to analyse the site in the early stages and then progress to understand how the proposed massing might affect protected views.
VU.CITY enables Bennetts Associates to immediately understand not only the buildings that are present, but also the buildings that are going to be present: the consent, constraints, sunlight, daylight, the view angles …. and their presentations now always include an immersive 3D element to help clients understand their designs. They’re keen to acknowledge the important role VU.CITY has played in helping them attract new work.
